I just heard Mitt Romney use three dimensional chess as a metaphor for the fact the world has changed since the days of simply playing friends and enemies.
I think anybody who uses three dimensional chess as a metaphor should demonstrate their understanding of the rules of three dimensional chess.
When I figured out three dimensional chess confused me, I took it out of my vocabulary.
I hope this doesn't reintroduce it. I really don't feel like learning the rules.
Plus I feel like people use it to express something beyond their understanding and still try to sound like they know what they're talking about.
That's not good, especially for a presidential candidate discussing foreign policy.
Peace!
